Reading: Rebecca Mead’s New Yorker article about the recent scandals and ongoing controversies at the British Museum.
Art: A visit to the Barnes Collection in Philadelphia.
Video: Wildcat, a film inspired by Flannery O’Connor’s early career and her fiction
(Tr)eats: Strawberries. Desserts made from last summer’s cherries. Mushrooms from the farmers market.
Drink: I recently had my first watermelon agua fresca of the summer.
Garb: It’s the season for cotton floral dresses! And I just repaired a pair of 20-year-old flats (Mary Janes with grommets and buckles) that are right on-trend again.
Beauty products: A new shampoo bar from LUSH — I’m trying Coconut Rice Cake this time. (And it smells good.) Jones Road Lippie Stick in Tulip. Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara, in the washable formula — Meirav Devash is right, this is an excellent drugstore product.
Pleasures: A recent anniversary weekend in Philadelphia, visiting old haunts.
Plans: Lots of Hiroshige scent tours! Park time with friends. A return to physical therapy for my tricky shoulder.

Your Hiroshige scent tours sound amazing! Have there been any articles about them? We’re just back from a long family trip to Normandy and Brittany, which was marvelous. Focus was much more on eating and drinking than sniffing, lol. With LOTS of walking, including three days spent at various D-Day sites. Now I feel I must read or watch “Band of Brothers”. Right now, I’m mostly getting caught up with garden needs — I did a lot of planting this spring, but I still have some plants to go into large pots, and the weeds went crazy while we were gone. Luckily, my garden smells lovely, so that is a pleasant distraction from pulling weeds.
