Reading: Marta McDowell, The World of Laura Ingalls Wilder: The Frontier Landscapes that Inspired the Little House Books (a gift from Mr. Professor; highly recommended!)
Audio: Went to see my longtime musical love Lloyd Cole at City Winery; now I’m playing and replaying lots of his albums in the aftermath
Art: A recent visit to the Whitney
Video: “McQueen,” the documentary film about designer Alexander McQueen

Drink: This is the time of year when I most enjoy white wine!
Eats & Treats: Peaches from the farmers market, ears of corn on the grill
Garb: Back in strappy (but sensible) black sandals and black espadrilles for the season
Beauty Products: Sunblock, of course. A sparkly brown eyeliner from NYX (bargain!). Aroma Sanctum Mermaid perfume oil.
Pleasure: A handful of “Summer Friday” work holidays
Displeasure: A summer cold that has dragged me down during some of the above holidays
How has your summer been going??

Wonderful! Summer this year filled with enticing planets gracing our Southern California skies. I live in a forest at 6,000′, and between bright red Mars above the Eastern horizon and brilliant Venus to the West, it’s been a beauty. Riding (galloping!!!) horses through our woods. Driving my horse, Laddie, in carriage, like your wistful photo:)) Watermelon and raspberries from the farmer’s market :)) White wine. And my brilliant daughter, EllaHarp (ellaharp.com) on musical tour here this past weekend :)) Enjoy! See if wild oregano oil will help with the cold, (helps me). You can get capsules (Oregamax) at Sprouts. :)) Dawn
