In a recent episode of “The Good Place” titled “The Ballad of Donkey Doug” (Season 3, Episode 6), we got re-acquainted with Jason Mendoza’s best friend Pillboi and learned more about his other friend, Donkey Doug.

Jason, Michael, and Tahani pay a call to Donkey Doug’s apartment in Florida and end up sitting through a conversation about Doug’s latest get-rich-quick scheme. He and Pillboi have come up with a ground-breaking (?) idea for a combination body spray and energy beverage — imagine the love-child of AXE and 5-Hour Energy, or BOD Man and Monster Energy Drink.

Donkey Doug and Pillboi pitch their time-saving, cost-saving invention to Jason, Tahani, and Michael with enthusiasm and a typically goofy script.

Pillboi: “How much do you spend on energy drinks and body spray in one week? Three hundred dollars? Ten hundred dollars?”

Double Trouble is available in three “smell-flavors”: Raspberry Perspirant (the opposite of anti-perspirant?), Cedarwood Melon Blast…

…and 24-Hour Lemon Musk Xtreme.

The “smell-flavors” sound like a mash-up of actual men’s body spray scents, like AXE Ice Chill (“Frozen Lemon and Eucalyptus”) or BOD Fresh Blue Musk, and classic Bath & Body Works blends (Cucumber Melon or Coconut Lime Breeze).

We already know from an earlier episode that “The Good Place” writers have a special place in their hearts for AXE.

Michael still manages to raise a very practical question.

Michael: “Do you spray it on yourself or drink it?”

Pillboi: “You both it.”

Spoilers: this enterprise isn’t very well-planned (it requires stealing body spray, energy drinks, and bottles) so it doesn’t quite work out for Pillboi and Donkey Doug. But I’ll let you watch the episode for yourself sometime.
