Reading: Elizabeth Taylor’s Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, from my Boxwalla subscription. A sharp post-WWII comedy of manners. Now I need to read more of Taylor’s novels.
Video: Inventing Anna, for some semi-trashy diversion.
Audio: Right now, David Bowie’s “Heroes.”
Art: Back to reading about Warhol et al.
(Tr)eats: I realized that the Epicerie Boulud that I pass on my way to work has some decent take-out items, for less money than I’d spend at my workplace cafe. (I’m very bad at packing my own lunch.) They have a chia-and-fruit thing that I really like, and a nice carrot-and-grain salad.
Drinks: Whatever stout or other very dark beer Mr. Professor brings home from the local liquor store.
Beauty Products: Glory hair conditioner from LUSH. (A little too heavily scented, like all LUSH hair products, but it works well.) Rituel de Fille Ethereal Veil Conceal and Cover. (More versatile than I anticipated!)
Garb: I’m back in the office on a more regular schedule and getting reacquainted with some favorite dresses and jewelry, including a long strand of black crystal beads that I’m wearing with anything and everything.
Pleasures: Attending an online class offered by the Institute for Art and Olfaction with Atlas Obscura. It feels good just to be a student sometimes!
Plans: More outdoor lunchtime walks to see the first hints of early-spring green. Keeping fingers crossed for some in-person talks to take shape. More collaborations, too, if all goes well.
