Reading: Yevgenia Byelorusets’s Lucky Breaks.
Video: Last weekend I watched The Thomas Crown Affair (the original, not the 1990s remake!) for the first time. The plot and most of the acting are…somewhat lacking, but the two leads and their outfits and all the late-1960s film editing are fantastic.
Art: I have to admit I haven’t been doing much museum-going outside my actual job lately. The latest Covid surge in NYC hasn’t helped.
Audio: I watched a trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s ELVIS and now guess what I keep wanting to listen to?
Tr(eats): It’s rhubarb season! and our local farmers market is back.
Drinks: I enjoyed a beer flight at a brewery in Hudson, NY and realized I hadn’t had one of those since…I don’t know when.
Beauty Products: Did you know Face Stockholm is still in business? I was completely unaware they still had a few brick-and-mortar shops in the US until I saw one during the above-mentioned visit to Hudson. I got a semi-sheer lipstick in Elegant Veil.
Garb: I’m assessing my warm-weather dress stash and my sandal supply. Also, I have I mentioned my intense interest in Knix pajamas?
Pleasures: So many new perfumes on hand to try right now. The air around my home desk is quite fragrant!
Plans: Catch up on some overdue medical check-ups. Spend more and more time socializing outdoors this summer. Get rolling on a new freelance writing project.
