Reading: I’m in the middle of Jennifer Egan’s The Candy House.
Art: The Designs of Dorothy Liebes at the Cooper Hewitt and Ed Ruscha / Now Then at MoMA. Two excellent shows.
Audio: I rarely listen to podcasts unless it’s something I really need to hear for work, but I’ve really been enjoying Pep Talk, a new fragrance-related podcast hosted by “The Scentinel.”
Video: American Fiction, at an actual movie theater. I could get back into this habit…
(Tr)eats: Panettone from our local bakery.
Drink: Egg nog! Chamomile tea at bedtime.
Garb: Bed-Stu boots. An Anna Sui sweatshirt from a recent sample sale. And in 2024 I’ll be rocking some really fantastic jewelry received as Christmas gifts from friends. Stay tuned…
Beauty products: Eyeshadow “soufflés” from Troy Surratt. Rosewater serum from Heritage Store (the brand that makes the cult-classic rosewater spray). Various lip balms from C. O. Bigelow, received as gwps.
Pleasures: Christmas with family, New Year’s Eve with friends. A brand-new planner for 2024.
Plans: Climbing back from a recent disappointment over a would-be side project. Working on the side projects that are still happening. Avoiding Covid and the flu, fingers crossed, now that I’ve gotten a fresh round of shots. Taking more lunchtime walks.
How did you wrap up 2023?
