A Few Perfumes for a “Heat Dome” Week

Hot town, summer in the city

Runnin’ upstairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop…

Here’s a link for today: I hope you’ll enjoy beauty reporter Emily Kelleher’s InStyle piece on summertime perfume trends, with a few picks from me. (Gus Romero, perfumer and founder of the Fragrance Alliance Network, also weighed in!) It’s titled “13 Summertime Scents That Will Get You Compliments All Year Round.”

I spoke with Emily about a month ago and I wasn’t sure when this post would go live, but I am indeed wearing Régime des Fleurs Cacti today, just as the mercury is hitting 94 degrees (with a “real feel” of 106) in my zip code. I’m grateful for air-conditioning and for this chance to recommend some of my favorite summer perfumes, ranging from green tea fragrances to “fancy suntan oil” scents.

Not mentioned here, but very much in rotation as well: my perennial love Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz La Plage: Sea Spray, and Nomenclature Minted. Also, Bath & Body Works Eucalyptus Spearmint Body Wash and Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil.

Many thanks to Emily for getting in touch to ask me my thoughts on this (literally) hot topic!

What are you wearing this week, if you’re dealing a heat wave?
