Here’s a break in my pandemic-themed posting for late March!
The Perfumed Plume just announced the finalists in their 2020 Awards for Fragrance Journalism and I’m happy to be represented in two categories…
Perfume Stories in Mainstream Media – Digital – Magazines, Newspapers, Blog Postings, Webzines: Perfume in Donna Tartt´s “The Goldfinch”
Short ‘n Sweet Perfume Stories – Print or Digital: 5 Perfumes for a Moon Landing
Both are blog posts from 2019.
There’s some good reading in the full list of finalists, which you can view here. Enjoy!
I hope you win – I thought your “5 Perfumes for a Moon Landing” was excellent and remembered reading it. Just laughed again about the Moon Flower Natural Deodorant – “..nervous about your space travel..” And I am reminded to follow up on the retro tuberose amber mentioned. About the time your article came out, our local paper had a feature by Roger Simmons of the Orlando Sentinel, “Apollo Facts: 11 things you probably don’t know about the moon mission.” Fact 11 was “What’s that smell?” and Neil Armstrong said as soon as they got back on board, they all noticed a new smell, like wet ashes or to Buzz Aldrin as if a firecracker had gone off. Sorry to go on, but after 8 or ten years of being a fragrance nut, I loved reading that they noticed that.
