August 26 is International Dog Day, so they say. I’m much more of a cat person than a dog person, as you’ve probably gathered at some point, but I do love this old advertisement for Ralph Lauren’s Lauren. I don’t know whether the model is supposed to be waiting for a polo match to start, or just daydreaming, or what, but her dog is definitely keeping her company in the way that only a good pet can.

(Another reason this ad made me smile: I wore Lauren in my teens and I remember how beautiful it was.)
