“Of the five senses, smell has the closest thing to the full power of the past. Smell really is transporting.” — The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again), 1975
Not every exhibition at my workplace has a scent-related angle, but when there is a connection between art and fragrance, I try to take full advantage of it.
This spring I’ll be offering a “scent tour” of the show Andy Warhol: Revelation, which originated at the Andy Warhol Museum and is on view at the Brooklyn Museum through June 20, 2022. Are you a Warhol fan who’d like to know more about the part played by religion in his life and art? Are you curious about the influence spirituality has had on contemporary fragrance? Here’s a link for more information and tickets. (It’s the same tour offered on three different dates.)
With thanks to my coworkers and Luckyscent/Scent Bar for their support of this event!
