Passing Fancies ~ February 2024

Reading:  The Guest by Emma Cline.

Art: A visit to the Jewish Museum to see the excellent Chloé show with my buddy M. when she was in town.

Audio: Hit recordings from the 1920s, as inspiration for a perfume talk (see below!).

Video: Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. I like some of the actresses in the cast, and the costumes and hair are fantastic. Otherwise, the whole series doesn’t feel like it’s adding up to much.

(Tr)eats: I’m back on DailyHarvest fruit smoothies, because I’m too lazy to buy and peel and cut all the various fruit on my own. At the other end of the spectrum, we just finished a big box of Godiva chocolate we’ve been eating piece by piece since Christmas.

Drink: Harneys Tower of London tea.

Garb: I’m tired of my puffy coat at this point in the year, but I do love all my wintry black layers underneath. And I have a couple of fun new necklaces (Christmas gifts) that are getting heavy rotation right now.

Beauty products: BioCorneum scar gel, to heal a scratch on my eyelid (inflicted by a very scared cat whom I rudely awakened without warning!). I hope this gel works well. And I’m still on my Neal’s Yard binge, with geranium-scented shower gel and hand wash.

Pleasures: A recent perfume swap event at Olfactory Art Keller, hosted by Perfume Room Pod and Basenote Bitch. Lunchtime walks to the library. A night at the ballet with friends.

Plans: Getting over a recent disappointment; onward and upward. Giving a short perfume talk as an opening act for a friend’s band!
